The fishing vessel Solita crosses a storm during the night and the Skipper Will McKenna witnesses a weird creature attacking the crewman Joey. They return to the dock and Will has difficulties to pay the amount he owes to the former owner of the boat, Roy. The fish population is reducing in the area and the biologist Arden is investigating the possible causes. Meanwhile, Will's daughter Carly steals the keys of her father's cottage in a nearby island and plans to travel with her boyfriend Danny and their friends Erin and Drew to spend the weekend in the island. However, Drew is murdered by a deep sea predator on the dock and his pieces are found by Will and Arden. Carly, Danny and Erin do not have any news from their friend and travel to the island without Drew. Sooner Erin is murdered by the creature and Danny is bitten by a newborn reptile. Danny and Erin seek shelter in the cabin but they are trapped there by the creatures. BEYOND THE SKY TRAILER FINDS DOCUMENTARY FILMMAKER TRYING TO DISPROVE ALIENS DURING ALIEN ATTACK

The core of alien abduction stories and mysterious Area 51-esque tales of UFOs is the doubt of nighttime lights and shady government secrets. Certainty isn’t a factor when it comes to the subject — in fact, when it’s there, as in the case of, say, The X-Files’ Mulder, it’s a matter of faith. So when a sci-fi film comes out about punishing a foolish alien abduction skeptic, it can often look like one of those films pushing a different kind of doctrine.

That’s what’s happened with the trailer for Beyond the Sky, which gives alien abduction the God’s Not Dead treatment. Rather than an atheist out to kill God, the movie stars a documentary filmmaker out to prove abductions fake. Needless to say, aliens show up, a romance blossoms, and the film has some uncomfortable Native American stereotypes talking about the truth. And Peter Stormare is there.

Take a look:

Aside from some big and brash alien reveal VFX, Fulvio Sestito’s film mostly seems like its hero (played by Ryan Carnes) running around with a repeat abductee (played by Jordan Hinson) and being told that aliens exist. That is, until the aliens come and get them. Then, you’d think, the movie would be over. Aliens proven. But maybe there’re a few tricks up its doubting sleeves — maybe the aliens have some Indiana Jones-esque plotline of their own.

We’ll find out, non-believer and believer alike, when Beyond the Sky hits theaters on Sept. 21.

Based on the graphic novel Watch the Skies, this family sci-fi adventure from writer/director Alexander Murillo follows two young boys who try to capture ameteur video of outerspace, but instead encounter invading aliens. Renée O’Connor, Jed Sura, Karson Kern, and Miles Muir star in WATCH THE SKY. It all began with a simple question: it's just one balloon in the entire sky, what's the worst that can happen? In an effort to capture amateur video of outer space, two young brothers unexpectedly find themselves in harm’s way when an innocent science experiment becomes a day filled with unearthly events threatening their sleepy coastal town. Watch the Sky (2018) Official Trailer | Breaking Glass Pictures | BGP Indie Family Movie DVD & VOD RELEASE: August 21, 2018 Director: Alexander Murillo Cast: Renée O’Connor, Jed Sura, Luke Albright, Amie Farrell, Miracle Laurie, Carol Mansell, and introducing Karson Kern and Miles Muir. ------ ► Website: www.bgpics.com ► Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/BreakingGlassPictures/ ► Twitter: https://twitter.com/BreakingGlassPx/ ► Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/breakingglasspictures/

"I don't want the whole town getting into a panic over nothin'." Breaking Glass Pictures has debuted an official trailer for the indie sci-fi film Watch the Sky, which will be going straight to VOD coming up next week. Even though this isn't that impressive, we still like featuring cool indie films from up-and-coming filmmakers anyway. Watch the Sky is about two brothers who send a balloon into the sky in hopes of getting some of their own video footage of space. They end up getting more than they bargained for when they discover UFOs. The film features Renée O’Connor, Jed Sura, Luke Albright, Amie Farrell, Miracle Laurie, Carol Mansell, and introducing Karson Kern and Miles Muir. This looks super low budget, but I appreciate that they actually show the aliens in daylight (and not only at night). Might be a cool watch.

Here's the first official trailer (+ poster) for Alexander Murillo's Watch the Sky, direct from YouTube:

It began with a simple question: it's just one balloon in the entire sky, what's the worst that can happen? In an effort to capture amateur video of outer space, two young brothers unexpectedly find themselves in harm's way when an innocent science experiment becomes a day filled with unearthly events threatening their sleepy coastal town. Watch the Sky is both written and directed by LA-based filmmaker Alexander Murillo, making his feature directorial debut after a few documentaries and short films previously. Based on the graphic novel of the same name. This hasn't premiered at any film festivals before, as far as we know. Breaking Glass will release Murillo's Watch the Sky direct-to-VOD + DVD starting August 21st this month.
